Getting Started   Welcome! Welcome to Sherlock Holmes & the Internet of Things. This is NOT a traditional online course but instead it is a unique, highly dynamic collaboration. Consider it to be a lab, a virtual studio, an R&D space, a skunkworks, a social sandbox. Over the next 10 weeks, you’ll be stepping into a unique Massive Online/Offline Collaboration (MOOC). Together we’ll be working to design, build, test and create a number of workable prototypes that can be plugged into a series of connected crime scenes around the world. Bridging the Physical & Digital Worlds

Disclaimer when we say MOOC we are NOT talking about a massive open online course but instead referring to a massive online/offline collaboration. Collaboration can be a bitch. Communication is often strained. Working across time zones with dispersed teams results in often heard phrases such as; “can you hear me?” or “let me restart!” or my favorite “are you getting an echo?” As I write this we have close to 700 people collaborating within the Sherlock Holmes & the Internet of Things project from 60+ countries.
